Each practitioner’s statement should be a maximum of 250 words.
Throughout the Practitioners Statement you MUST use the correct Visual Arts terminology.
My design brief follows the creation of a logo using artistic tools and mediums such as Photoshop and Illustrator, and to then ‘sell’ the product using various templates. My own logo promotes a burger bar called Love Burger, and includes elements such as a visual mark, bold typography, and other decorative elements to create visual hierarchy and achieve balance within the colour scheme. My influences were many other burger bar logos, especially the more sophisticated, higher end ones which were located in CBD locations, and I wanted to achieve somewhat of a minimalistic design to create the formality and sophistication, which I wanted. I therefore started at browsing through many minimalistic and burger design logos, and focused on simple, clever ones. In my own logo, there was quite some repetition with the colour scheme to contrast and balance out the colours and the order in which they were placed, proportional to the other elements in the logo. The red of the heart balanced out the red dots placed on the outside border, and the colour scheme itself didn’t quite reach the intended target audience I wanted, which was sophisticated colours such as gold and purple, but adds a fun touch. Some issues which arose were obviously, difficulty with using Photoshop and Illustrator as a beginner and having to experiment with various tools, and experimenting around with varying colour palettes to make sure what worked, and what didn’t. Overall, I believe I met the parameters of the design brief very well.
